After making her name with the mega-successful K-pop girl group BLACKPINK, singer and rapper JENNIE broke off in a big way with the aptly titled 2018 smash “SOLO”.

• The Seoul native spent part of her childhood in New Zealand, where she developed an interest in K-pop. She successfully auditioned for YG Entertainment at age 14, allegedly by singing Rihanna’s “Take a Bow”.
• In 2013 ahead of BLACKPINK’s formal 2016 debut, Jennie was featured on songs by K-pop stars Lee Hi, G-Dragon and Seungri.
• “SOLO” reached No. 1 on South Korea’s Gaon chart and Billboard’s Korea K-Pop 100. It also made JENNIE the first solo female K-pop artist to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart.
• A fashion icon, Jennie has been nicknamed “Human Gucci” and “Human Chanel”, as she seems to embody those luxury brands.
